Welcome back to Tiny Tuesday here at My Artful Adventures! Today’s project is another 1 sheet wonder, and this one is all about simple folds, flexible structure, and creative freedom.
We’re making a small folded booklet using just one sheet of paper—no complicated measuring, very little cutting, and no fancy tools required. This version is a little different from the one we made previously, with fewer pages and an easier construction, but it’s incredibly versatile.
Why This 1 Sheet Wonder Works
For this project, I’m using a non-directional, single-sided paper. Choosing an overall pattern means you don’t have to worry about which way is up or down while folding. It keeps the process relaxed and playful, which is exactly the point of Tiny Tuesday.
You can use:
- 12×12 scrapbook paper
- 8½×11 printer paper
- Patterned paper or plain white paper
The structure stays the same—you just adjust the scale.
The Folding Process
This booklet is created almost entirely through folding:
- Start by noticing which direction your paper bends most easily
- Fold corner to corner
- Fold again to create columns
- Continue folding sections in half to build the structure
Once folded, a single cut along the raised section lets the paper open into a fun, dimensional booklet. Pinching the folds together reveals the final shape. From there, it’s all about choice.
Make It Your Own
This is where the magic happens.
You can:
- Leave sections loose for interactive movement
- Add glue to stabilize certain folds
- Turn areas into pockets
- Glue multiple booklets back-to-back for a thicker mini
- Fold sections in different directions for playful variation
There’s no right or wrong way to finish this piece. You decide how much structure or freedom you want.
If you’d like a sturdier booklet, adding a small amount of glue in key spots helps reduce flapping while also strengthening the folds. And if something looks a little wonky at first—don’t worry. A bit of gentle reshaping usually brings everything back into alignment.
Perfect for Creative Play
This is a great project for:
- Mini albums
- Journaling
- Scrapbooking
- Practice pieces
- Creative warm-ups
You can make several and glue them together, or keep them simple and let the folds do the work. If you’re using plain white paper, the possibilities are completely open.
I don’t need to tell you what to use it for—you’re creative, and you’ll make it your own.
