The Village Creative Series: Printables for Paper Crafting

Small towns hold big stories.

Over the past few months, I’ve been quietly building something that has become one of my favorite creative playgrounds — the Village Creative Series.

The Village Creative Series is a growing collection of printable village buildings and scenes designed especially for creative paper crafting.

It started as a simple idea: printable buildings and environments that could be used in journals, cards, folios, and layered pages without strict instructions telling you exactly what to do.

And honestly… I’m loving it.

What I enjoy most is that these printables aren’t about perfection or following steps. They’re about experimenting, layering, trimming, resizing, and creating something that looks or feels just right.

No steps.
No rules.
Just play.

What Is the Village Creative Series?

The Village Creative Series is an open-ended printable collection of storybook-style buildings, environment pages, and creative elements designed for paper crafters who enjoy flexible, playful creativity.

Each collection adds new places to a growing village — little buildings, background scenes, and extra pieces that can be mixed and matched in lots of different ways.

You might use them to:

    • Create layered village scenes
    • Build junk journal pages and folios
    • Make cards, pockets, and tuck spots
    • Add storytelling details to paper projects
    • Experiment with scale, layering, and composition

The pieces are designed to work together, but they’re also meant to leave room for your own creativity.

Some pages are simple buildings. Some are full scenes. While others are “story starter” spaces that make it easier to begin.

It’s all meant to feel open, playful, and usable.

The First Village Collections

The series began earlier this year with the first two collections that started shaping the look and feel of the village.

Village Creative Series – Beginnings Collection

The first collection introduced the foundation of the town with four storefront buildings:

      • Café
      • Bookshop
      • Market
      • Post Office

The Village Creative Series – Beginnings Collection includes 12 printable 8.5×11 sheets, plus 2 more sheets of words and phrases.

It also includes town square and outdoor environment pages that create a charming village setting for layering, journaling, and creative play.

Village Creative Series – House & Salon Collection

The next collection brought the village a little closer to home with a cozy cottage and a cheerful salon.

The Village Creative Series – House & Salon Collection includes 7 printable 8.5×11 pages, along with 2 more sheets of words and phrases.

This collection also introduced indoor “story starter” scenes for each building, along with outdoor settings that make it easy to begin using the pieces right away.

That turned out to be a really helpful shift, both for creativity and for keeping the collections easy to use.

How the Monthly Collections Work

Going forward, each new Village Creative Series collection will be introduced on the blog and featured in my newsletter.

During the month it is released, the newest collection is available free in the newsletter.

After that, it remains available in the shop so you can still collect it later, even if you missed the free release month.

That means the series can grow one collection at a time, and you can join in whenever you like.

Some people may print every collection as it comes out. Others may slowly build their own village over time. Either way works beautifully.

How I’ve Been Using It

One of the reasons I wanted to finally write about the Village Creative Series here on the blog is because this isn’t just an idea I dreamed up and never touched again.

    • I’ve actually been using it.

I’ve been printing the pieces, testing sizes, layering buildings into projects, and figuring out what makes the series both fun and useful. The more I play with it, the more I like it.

I especially love the way the buildings can be used in different sizes and how easily they can move from a journal page to a card to a tucked-in little village scene.

Sometimes I use a larger building as the focus. Sometimes the tiny versions end up being the perfect detail. And sometimes just lining up a row of little storefronts is enough to make me smile.

That’s what makes this series feel different to me. It’s not about completing a project the “right” way. It’s about having pieces that invite you to create something that feels like you.
