Weekly Recap of Paper Crafts Adventures
Here is the summary of our latest paper crafts over the past week. May you draw inspiration from everyday life and look to tutorials such as these for ideas!
Paper Doll Altered Book
This week I took an old Reader’s Digest book to use for the beginnings of an altered book. It is amazing how varied the ideas are with a small number of people using the same printables for their projects, which is what we did for our Junk Journal Jamboree event. Instead of dressing my doll with different dresses, each dress is attached to a separate page. By stragically adhering the dresses, the doll can slip into her attire. One doll graces the cover and has a skirt made of vintage lace. I am pleased with the way she turned out.
Book Page Pockets
Next, we found ourselves creating pockets in the book. We can still add pockets, but for now, we have made pockets right in the book from the books own pages.
Spring Themed SteamPunk Journal Cover
As part of a ‘SpringPunk’ event, printables came into play once more. Using papers I can print from a home printer gives many more options, as opposed to depending on the papers I have on hand. Sometimes paper crafts are an experiment, and this was one of those times. I am going to revisit this project soon. I have some ideas on how to use papers printed at home, making them sturdy enough for the outer cover of a journal. By the way, sign up for my Telegram channel so that you’ll get a notice about tutorials.
Fun ‘Sunflower Serenade’ Painting
I often stray from paper crafts to do a bit of fun painting! The Facebook Group, ‘Sacred Treasure House‘ is hosting a Summer Sun event June 19th and 20th. A private group has been created and once you have submitted a $6 entry fee you are admitted the group and able to select from 12 kits. Each kit is $14.99 plus shipping. (The entry fee is for door prizes, etc.) You expect fun and games from the moment you enter the group! Then on the event days, creators will craft their kits along with you. That way, you have a recorded video that you can replay in case you want to craft yours later. Here is the kit that I will be creating with you during the event. Here is the kit I am offering for the event:
