Why You’ll Love This Easy Shaker Element
- No complicated measuring or layering
- Uses a window envelope you may already have
- Quick to make—perfect for last-minute projects
- Easy to customize for cards, journals, and folios
Supplies Used
- Window envelope
- Foam tape
- Sequins or shaker filler
- Scrap paper for background
- Adhesive (glue)
- Embossing buddy or cornstarch (optional)
Helpful Tips
If your shaker elements aren’t moving freely, try lightly rubbing the inside of the window with an embossing buddy or just the tiniest bit of cornstarch. This helps reduce static so your sequins can move easily.
Also, make sure your foam tape creates a tight seal around the window so nothing escapes.
Ways to Use Your Shaker Element
- Add it to handmade cards
- Use it in junk journals or folios
- Create interactive embellishments
- Layer it into scrapbook layouts
